Well, I have one band which came last year. I guess if you averaged it out over the years.....oh never mind....let's just say that was the first and only band in 10 years of hunting.
I love to watch the ducks circle and the dogs work.
I have six total, all of them in the past 8 years. Although I've gotten one each of the last 4 years - a 3 year old, a yearling, an 11 year old, and a 15 year old!
Back in 99-00, my father killed 6 banded birds and was present when 2 others were taken! Talk about a banner year.
I heard all this talk about "getting bands" all my life! Sounded like the thing I ought to aspire to. So, I finally got one...and it danged near ruined my hunting life! Now I don't really see what all the fuss about bands is all about
Yep, I got a wedding band over thirty years ago and it has drastically reduced the days I spend hunting! Be careful about your pursuit of these bands. They can purty near end your days hunting if it comes from the wrong bird!
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

16. Overall, I would average less than one a year. However, on years where I really have time to get after them (20+ days) I would average a little over one per year. Mostly mallards. Nothing too exotic, most unusual would be a hen gadwall.
23 bands in 31 years. (1) dove band (1) pheasant band (1) snow goose band (1) widgeon band and (19) mallard bands
