Are you planning another trip to OK anytime soon? I'll drive. I haven't seen squat for ducks so far this year. When are you taking time off to hunt?

WF - I would love to go back to OK this season. To hell with driving. We can get there and back for under $200.00 on Delta. Let's try to line something up b4 the 20th of January. What's your schedule looking like? I know that I can't go around the 12th or 13th.

Did you see the outlook??? Lows in the 20's around Christmas???!!

Hey Softcall, Ya'll doin any good. I have heard a bunch of bad reports from that area, north and south of ya'll. I have had the worst season that I can remember in 20 damn years. I really can't believe how bad it has been. We have had one day that was what I like to call a slaughterin. January ought to be awesome if some of this water will drain off so they can go back to their usual places. Ya know where they die all the time.

FC - we haven't done well at all. I have seen plenty of birds, but they are all in the woods on the river. You'll run up a hundred or so mallards and set up on them b4 they float back in. The problem is that the sob's don't come back to the same hole. They move down a few hundred yards and you play chase all day. Quite honestly, I have killed more 5th's of old charter (after the hunt) than ducks this season. Two fifths and one damn duck. At this rate I'll have to check in to the Betty Ford clinic before I even get to a cumulative daily legal limit this season. Good luck this weekend!

Are you guys referring to hunting in Oklahoma, or just going on a trip to OK....Thata is where i hunt a few days a week, in NE and E Ok. Where are you guys going there?

The Swamp Witches hunted this morning under pristine conditions and saw a grand total of eight mallards and two wood ducks. These conditions almost make me want to clean the rust and dust off the ol' 30.06 and head for the hill country, but I'm still holding out hope for a Christmas miracle!
