Bathroom remodel question

We are about to close on a house and the project list is already growing. One of the first things we're going to have to do is remodel the bathroom.

We're going to have to move the shower and drain about 4-6 feet. I'm going have a plumber do the plumbing work but I'm trying to do as much as I can myself.

My problem is I'm going to have cut the slab to move the drain. Any of you guys ever cut a slab? What is the best tool to use? I've run a masonry saw before but thats gas powered and prob not the best thing to fire up in an enclose space. Thanks for any advice.

If that is all the distance you need to move it just bust it with an electric jackhammer. That short of a distance is not alot of work.

How old is the house? May have post tension cables, need to check before hammering.

Built in 1973. How would you tell if it has cables?

might be able to find a masonry blade for your circular saw, skil saw, that will help you get a good straight cut before you start jackhammering. If you do that, you could possibly finish with a hammer drill rather than a large jackhammer. Just my $.02

If you have a 4.5" angle grinder you can buy diamond blades for them. Gonna be dusty but it will give you a good straight score line
to do your hammer drilling with.
