UofM did put up some points against Texas, but let's remember Mack Brown had the backup's backups in by the 3rd.

edit all that I typed...just asking a question instead...did you watch the whole game and follow any of the post game or you just assume since score was 66-31 that Texas blew Ole Miss out and put in back-ups and allowed Ole Miss to score some late to narrow the gap a bit???

we can agree to disagree on what would happen between two teams that aren't gonna play each other...but I'll say what I deleted again...if you gave up 21 to Troy, I'd expect 35+ to Texas. Of course, all hypothetical and each game is different...

Watched the entire game. You're right, Ole Miss wouldn't go away......the difference is that OM wouldn't go away against B & C teams. You can continue to tell yourself that OM is competitive, but I don't think you are fathoming that OM gave up SIXTY-SIX points at home.......

No excuses for Troy, we played down to our opponent. We will know a lot more about our team in a couple of weeks, but to think the game against texas would be comparable to ya'lls game vs. them is pretty humorous

Anyone who sees the Auburn game as "winnable" for Mississippi is delusional. Just because your team only got skull drug by 30 some odd points by a visiting and down Texas doesn't Suddenly make Mississippi a viable player in the SEC. Auburn is admittedly down with their QB situation and all but they wont have to score many points to beat Mississippi. In order to beat auburn UM will have to drive the ball which is something they have yet to do against anyone. Auburn wont give up the big first down plays and neither will anyone else after the Tulane game. This season is fixing to get long for the rebs.

Ole Miss offense is competitive and they will score points against 1st team defenses, they have some player makers as long as everybody stays healthy...I totally understand that we gave up 66 points, I said back in week one that our defense was going to be a big problem, and it is...but just b/c our defense has major work to do doesn't undermine the fact our offense went toe to toe with Texas, a quality opponent and given our current roster state and past 3 years, that is encouraging....that is my only simple point, if anyone wants to further oppose that then nothing left I can say or assume but that you didn't watch the game or you so badly want Ole Miss to not improve that you refuse to acknowledge any positive.

Now who is delusional? The Rebs are only averaging a little over 500 yards of offense per game. Yes, we can do better and need to step it up. But, driving the ball on offense has not been the problem.

Now, on the defensive side of the ball, there is obviously a leak in the line.
