Re: Jury Verdict in on Rebs
Stang67, I backed up that post with positive proof. See Exhibit A later in the thread. For anecdotal evidence, just watch that head coach on the sideline during any game. He looks clueless. I did not say that the Hogs "suck", or any derivative thereof. And I backed my statement with proof. So there.
And I would never use the term "booty goober". This is what the board mods apparently substitute for the words "dumb" and "a r s e" when put together, which was what I originally posted. Goober22 probably came up with that one. And it sucks.

Ok, I see your point -- as long as you gave proof.

Re: Jury Verdict in on Rebs
Just a quick fyi....
UofM did put up some points against Texas, but let's remember Mack Brown had the backup's backups in by the 3rd.
Let's not make this any more than it is, you gave up 60+ at home. If any one of you think Texas comes into Starkville and hangs 35+, you are blind. We have easily one of, if not the, best secondary in the country. Points given up isn't a category that we have much trouble in, because if you haven't noticed, we always score more than we give up, for those of you who don't understand that scenario, that equals a win.
OM fans can sugarcoat it all they want, you got it handed to you at home. 60+ points is scary, and every team you play from here and out got that game tape. Gaping holes in the secondary and interior D-Line issues are going to hurt you. You all will scrape by and win a couple more, but the blatant claims to 6 & 7 wins this season is comical. I prefer that ya'll are competitive, it makes it more fun, seriously. You all aren't there yet, and I honestly don't think Freeze is the guy to get you there. He has incited a little but of excitement in the program, but I do believe that train will run out of steam soon. A team can run on pure heart for a few games, but eventually, talent is going to have to play a factor. Depth is also a serious concern.
I'm not going to call you all delusional, but to think that you all are back to the golden days or even close is not the case.
It's a long road to recovery, trust us.....Sly Croom took us into the depths of hell.

edit all that I typed...just asking a question instead...did you watch the whole game and follow any of the post game or you just assume since score was 66-31 that Texas blew Ole Miss out and put in back-ups and allowed Ole Miss to score some late to narrow the gap a bit???southernmallard wrote:Just a quick fyi....

we can agree to disagree on what would happen between two teams that aren't gonna play each other...but I'll say what I deleted again...if you gave up 21 to Troy, I'd expect 35+ to Texas. Of course, all hypothetical and each game is different...

but I'll say if Troy can score 21 on your defense, Texas can score 35...

I could easily see Texas scoring 35 on MSU.

Re: Jury Verdict in on Rebs
Ole Miss folks are like listening to a CNN host...they would have you believe Ole Miss won and MSU lost.
Texas took a knee at the 1 yard line, correct?
Texas really doesnt have an SEC defense, correct?
Texas didnt do much after the half, correct?
Texas had their 1st string in the entire game and Ole Miss didnt, correct?
I do think Texas could possibly hag 35 on MSU.

Re: Jury Verdict in on Rebs
maybe MSU fans should just not jump into every Ole Miss thread trying to put people in their place...Ole Miss showed signs of life, no reason to jump in a call everybody delusional and especially when you got pushed around by Troy, don't start blowing up what Texas would or wouldn't have done to your all high and mighty football team...this was an Ole Miss verdict thread...who started the comparisons?deltadukman wrote:Ole Miss folks are like listening to a CNN host...they would have you believe Ole Miss won and MSU lost.

It will be a while before we know how good of a coach Freeze is. I will say that there is no way that Nutts team would have scored that much or played hard the whole game. Is he a better coach or are they just riding the emotion and excitement of a new coach only time will tell. It is pretty obvious that Ole Miss has a very good chance to win more games than pretty much everybody predicted but that has more to do with the opponents not Ole Miss. I think offense is the easiest place to hide talent deficiencies if you have good QB play which the rebels have had. Not sure their defense is going to stop anybody and I definetly don't think they make a bowl game but anything can happen.
