Re: Justin Boots question
I thought you did most of your "work" in the baby blue ostrich pair...
I have had this conversation with a lot of folks who work their boots. I personally have enjoyed the carhartt boots. But have worn others I like. At the end of the day my opinion is that taking care of boots is more important than a specific brand. You need to be comfortable in them first and second you need to get some leather soap, conditioner, and oil. Leather that is cared for will outlast the soles.

Re: Justin Boots question
wear boots every day and love my tlx tony lamas. they have a rubber sole vs the crepe (sp) sole that alot of traditional workboots like the justins have. i walk on the outside of my feet and a crepe sole just wont hold up. have a pair of tony lamas that i have had for 7 years and still wear them just about every day to the barn and to ride horses.

+1 on the Double H. I finally got tired of wearing out Justin boots myself and went with the Double H last go round. I got them at Christmas last year, and they still look brand new. They were a little tight up around my calf at first, but they finally broke in and they're a lot more comfortable than any pair of Justins I've ever had. They feel like they have a lot more padding in the sole too.

deltadukman wrote:I guess I should rephrase it. I am not looking for a work boot, but rather a western boot with more than just a leather sole. Like a mix between a western and a work. Rubber soled western boot. Double stiched square toe.
I have a pair of Twisted X that I wear.. It is sort of a mix between a work boot (rubber sole) and a dress boot..

Re: Justin Boots question
Ariat, hands down. I bought my first pair in 03 and have not bought any other brand since. 6 pairs total, been completely satisfied with every one. Just from looking and trying on a few other kinds, if I did buy something else it would be Double H. My stepfather got a pair a year and a half ago that are holding up well and that he has been satisfied with.

Double H 12 inch Domestic Gel ICE Work Western. I've had a pair for over 7 years. I have 3 Ariat's, 2 Double H's and a pair of Frye's. The ICE's are still the most comfortable boot I own.

+1 on the Double H gel ice work westerns. Couldn't keep a pair of Justin ropers or hard soles for more than a year without them falling apart. Double H's are 2 years old and still going strong. I choose them over my antelope Luccheses most of the time.Chuckle12 wrote:Double H 12 inch Domestic Gel ICE Work Western. I've had a pair for over 7 years.
