New Browning A5

Postby DrakeDemon » Mon Sep 03, 2012 7:23 pm

Does anyone know anything about then or if these are available yet? I have been to their website and it says they are coming out in late summer. Just was curious if any of you knew any info about them or had seen them yet. I really want one... I think!

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

I'd be very cautious about buying something in its first year of release. It's basically a short recoil binilli made to look like an A-5. I prefer long recoil or gas myself for personal use, just my preference.

$1,400-$1,600 for a 3" gun!?!? That's absurd. If someone wants a 3" recoil operated semi-auto, I defy anyone to find a better one than a Benelli M1 or now M2. Plus they cost less! But that is just my opinion. If you are a Browning person and you love the goofy look of an A5, then have at it.
I still can't believe how much all guns have gone up in the last 5 years. M2's when they first came out were right at a grand. Now they are almost $1,300. That's what SBE II's used to cost. Now they are $1,600. I guess it goes to the rising cost of metals and oil prices, but it's still crazy that there has been a 25% jump in prices for regular guns (there's no suprise that prices for AR's have jumped with Barry in office).

Hell I dont know.

Just the rumors that I have heard, I was kinda hoping someone on here had the real scoop.

I have heard that the sbe came directly from a john browning patent.

I heard it was the opposite where when the Benelli patent expired in 2006, Browning copied it for the new A5.

i don't really care where the idea cam from, i personally love the ole hump backs looks and style, they point really well. and if it works out as a good design i gonna try to get one. i love my SBE, but to have basically and SBE in a humpback body, i think that would be awsome, now to convince my wife i need another gun  , might have to just ask for forgivness on that one

You defy anyone to find a better 3" recoil-op semi-auto than a milli-benilli? That's so easy--the A-5 mag-12, preferably jap-made with invector +. Costs less, all forged steel, will be around for your great grand-kids, clean it once every decade or so if you're bored--not that it'll need it.
