Anyone down here plant sugar beets? If so, any success? Pros/Cons?

Well I guess no one knows about sugar beets. I asked my local co-op buddy and he recommended planting some with triticale and some clover for a sweet plot. Triticale is a wheat rye hybrid that is much sweeter than wheat or rye grass so deer would actually prefer it over wheat and actually has a higher protein content than both. When there is an abundance of wheat and rye grass in your area, you need something different and a little more preferable to the deer. So thats what I am going to try this winter.
