Generic round up

The ratio we were told to use was 3 oz per gallon. We just sprayed Saturday so won't really know anything for a couple weeks. Last year we sprayed the plots and 3 weeks later everything was DEAD DEAD DEAD. We found 2.5 gallons for $51 in Hernando at the CO-OP, not really sure if that's a good price or not, but it seemed pretty reasonable seeing how Round Up (proper) is over $200 for 2 gallons. We're hoping to put our initial discing on the fields in 2-3 weeks, then planting sometime in mid September.

Roundup Powermax is selling $55-$60 for a 2.5 gallon jug. If somebody is selling
2 gallons for $200 then somebody is robbing people blind.

I wasn't trying to argue with you about the percentage, I just figured out I needed more than what they told me when I asked.

Keeling company in gluckstadt has ranger pro for about 38 dollars a jug.

Never took it that way, was just saying that I didn't see the instructions, simply went by what they told me to mix up which was what they told them to mix. Hope it works.

The $200 per gallon stuff may have been some sorta brush killer stuff, it was what my buddy said they use at work and might have been something special.

Been spraying 2.5oz/gal of ranger pro on everything from weeds, to briers, to sumac and it works like a charm, but it is a little slow. On the woody stuff it takes about 4-5 days for it to start to yellow and then is completely dead in about 10 days or so.

Throw the dish soap in the garbage and use a good surfactant, regardless if it already has one in the mix.

I agree. I have used both and the surfactant is much more effective. And, even though I can't say I've used it myself, a good drift control additive goes a long way too if you're using a boom sprayer.

Drought and some of these plants getting close to maturity could be the problem with control. If it is pigweed it could be something much worse.

Add ammonium sulfate adjuvant to glyphosate under stress conditions. You will be amazed at how well it enhances the application.

Some of the generics are better than others....it all comes down to what surfactant and how much they have in the jug

A lot of that goes back to the surfactant. 3 hours stick time is suffucient with good surfactant for most weeds.
