Third Best Duck Hunter!

Postby laduck » Tue Dec 18, 2001 4:59 pm

I think that I can say this and get away with it. I could never say that I am the best duck hunter on this site. Too many people would take off with that. However, being the third best, should be ok with everyone else. My dog is the third best dog too. All of this is just a joke. I hope that all of you have a great week. There are two more days of school and then I can get away from all of those lovely children. Then for two weeks, my dog and I can be the third best hunters on this site. Everyone send a couple of birds south to the La. marsh. Jack

Today (Wed.) is the last day at my school. Kids finish their exams today and I have to work tomorrow (12 month). Then, you can put a fork in me...I'm done! Trying to decide whether to pack all the stuff up to hunt next week back home in MS or not. May decide to wait and make the pilgrimage later. I'll wait until Friday to decide.

Crow...give this north wind a few days and I think we are supposed to get some cold air next week. I'll fly the loop and tell you what is around. But when you do come, we will have to find a way to get back to THE hole, I'm sure it's 10 feet deep now.

Crow, how long have you been the leader of one of our institutions of higher learning? How many years have you been working with these lovely children? I have been at it for 31 and 1/2 years. In another year and a half I will be out of there. I coached football for 26 and baseball for 28. Our school is rather small (575 kids in high school). If you need a football or baseball coach in the future let me know. I could send you my resume (George O'Leary helped me fill it out). Have a good Christmas and I hope that you and Wingman kill some birds. I also will be hunting in Holmes County during the break. No birds now but maybe they will come. Jack

Laduck, been in the business 22 years; five years as principal of a 2800 student high school; four years as an asst. principal; the rest as a English teacher/football, baseball, track, wrestling coach. Gave up the coaching years ago when family and grad school became more important. Still love the lights on Friday nights, though! Where do you hunt in Holmes county; I know a lot of those good ole boys from my years at Holmes Jr. in Goodman.

Wingman, saw the long range forecast on the Weather channel last night...started packing this morning! I bet you could boat in from the levee with as much rain as you've had! I hope I can at least drive over for a jalepeno burger at the Sonic while I'm there.
