My daughter has a S60 , other than three bent rims , she's put 70K on it between here and Oxford
and no problems . My son just bought his wife a XC90, Black w/ light tan int, 2 weeks ago so no problems yet but that is fine .

My wife drives a 2007 - no problems whatsoever. Great riding vehicle. Volvo has always been known for two things, Safety and Comfortable seating.
Son, be sure to check the oil. The gas will take care of itself. George Carter - Circa 1965

Bought the wife one a month or so ago. We like it fine, I have two complaints with it that did not cross my mind when buying it. One, the rear/trunk door is not automatic like alot of suv's are, you have to raise and lower it by hand. Two, it is pretty tight getting into the 3rd row. Drives and rides fine.
Joel, we spent the extra money and got the headrest dvd players. worth every penny so far.
Edit to add: they have like a 50,000 mile free scheduled maintance deal too

Andy I am looking at a 2007 with 100k miles on it. With the amount of miles my wife puts on a vehicle in a year, I cant afford to buy her anything to expensive because I get upside down in it QUICK. hoping to start a trend to buy a vehicle with 100k plus miles and try and get another 60-80k out of it. Just didnt know how dependable the volvo's are. I have always heard that they ride great though.

Joel, the only negative I have heard is something about the sunroof either leaking or breaking on the older models. I feel your pain on the miles. Home health can rack them up!

My boss had one, about that year model, and had transmission troubles pretty early on. You might want to run a carfax on it.

My wife has an 04 with 150k on it....we bought from a family member....never any problems.....great riding car....safe for the youngens too.

They are a good looking SUV and they don'tseem to rattle as much. I think the sound liner and panels are better quality than toyota.
Re: Volvo XC90 ??
We are on our 3 rd one. Never had any problems with any of them. Drive it to Colorado a couple of times a year. We actually had a volvo sedan before we started buying xc90's. Never had a problem with it either.

Re: Volvo XC90 ??
Reviews on them are always very good. Consistantly the best reviewed midsize SUV for functionality. I've never heard anything about any Volvo having a lot of maintenance issues, other than the cheap S40. But I don't think they make them anymore because of the problems they had with them.
