Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

That was a great video. You must be extremely proud of him.

Re: for you NASCAR fans....
Its strange. His accomplishment is something we always expected from him.
The only doubt that we had, was IF he could get exposure to the big guys.
He won everything he ever did. He dad got hurt racing, and the son started driving his dad's sprint cars at age 15. And was beating the veterans.
The thing that is way cool about him, during the interviews even now - it is not uncommon to hear him say
"Yes Sir" and "No Ma'am" good proper southern upbringing.
And his parents are as good a people as you would ever want to meet. The comment about his dad being a hard worker is a major understatement. He will drive the motor coach home 14 hours from the track, and then get on his tractor and mow his grass until dark. Next morning he will be up at daybreak working in his shop. Mom is good as gold...
Love to see his success. Finally a good guy gets to the top.
The comment about him jumping off the roof of his house to his trampoline... was something we caught he and my son doing one afternoon.

I really like watching him and Austin Dillion race. Of course Austin is much newer to all of this than Ricky, but he is coming along pretty well. Doesn't hurt to have a grandfather named Richard Childress.
We'll get to see Ricky in the No. 17 Roush Fenway car next year.

I think it will take Ricky a little while to get adjusted to the sprint cup. I do beleive he will be a champion sprint cup driver one day.
shoot'm in the lips

With as many Sprint cup guys as there are running the Nationwide series...there won't be much of a transition I don't think.ducman77 wrote:I think it will take Ricky a little while to get adjusted to the sprint cup. I do beleive he will be a champion sprint cup driver one day.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Well done piece. Nice house. Nicer family, it seems. Is that house on the golf course?

No, the house is not on the golf course. It is a couple of miles from us. And yes, they are good folk.
Very focused & hard working when it comes to racing.
Dont know if you saw the news last week, but he fainted after the race last week - at the track.
Had the flu and was extremely sick, but drove anyway. caught up to him.
