Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
My daugher has a 2007 Honda CRV. Good little ride but the seats are unlike any I've ever seen - any little thing creates a major stain and nothing that we've tried will get them out. Any ideas on how to get nasty stains out of cloth car seats, or a shop in Tupelo area that really knows their stuff? It's so bad she wants to get them recovered in leather, but that's like $1200 and I told her to save her $, she'd never get that back out of the car. We've shopped and can't find any aftermarket seat covers for that vehicle.

Have you called Sportmans Camo Covers in Ecru. I'm pretty sure they can make you some nice seat covers and they offer more than just Camo patterns too

Spend 50 bucks on a steam cleaner at harbor freight first. It does pretty good.
Re: Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
I wondered about the steam cleaner. Need to check Sportsman camp also; I grew up with Maury and he is good people.

Dont fool with the steamcleaner. Take it to Tupelo Auto Spa in Tupelo! The guy that runs the place is real sharp and is a straight shooter. He knows his stuff when it comes to cleaning up cars!
Re: Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
Have you tried that stuff from Auto Zone? it's some sorta foaming spray then you scrub it. I've used it and it works really well.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Yeah, Dutch, tried the spray stuff that is supposed to remove nuclear waste - no joy. I'll try the auto spa - the name alone is cool enough for a visit...

Resolve carpet cleaner?
Re: Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
Resolve didn't even fade it, and I've used it to get red liquid tylenol out of white Berber carpet. Not sure what these seats are covered with but they hold stains like nothing we've ever seen.
Re: Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
It's sounding more and more like you need to find out just exactly what kinda stains they are. If a product that can remove nuclear waste can't touch it and another product that got liquid Tylenol out of Berber carpet didn't fade it, you've got the makings of a 2 am infomercial on your hands. I'm thinking wire brush and acetone for your next step.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Get a bottle of that Rug Doctor carpet cleaner with Oxyclean. It's at most grocery stores that rent out the rug doctor carpet cleaners. It'll take about anything you can find out.
Re: Ask DS - Cleaning auto upholstery
My wife swears by something called m30. It's in a tub like hand cleaner. I think she can only find it at dollar general. It gets grease, hydraulic fluid, and diesel fuel out of anything. It might work for you.

+1 also have you tried Blue Magic? It works well for me.DRYLOK wrote:Have you called Sportmans Camo Covers in Ecru. I'm pretty sure they can make you some nice seat covers and they offer more than just Camo patterns too

Same stuff in my wifes 07 pilot. Fabric is terrible. Water stains it. Literally.
