I don't recon that I have ever played disc golf or HS. However to me kayaking is much more fun than runnin around the lake in a big boat. I seem to still catch about as many fish.

Guy I met down on the coast has a Hobie with the peddle system - says he's much more stealth getting to the backs of the bays/lagoons and catches larger speck's because of that. Says the only drawback on the Hobie is the weight of it.
Son, be sure to check the oil. The gas will take care of itself. George Carter - Circa 1965

I've got a Hobie Adventure with the pedals. Its about 16' and weighs 75-85 lbs. Not too bad actually. I can carry it by myself. Whenever you are ready to yak I'm in. Just holla at me.

forgot to add that I have 2 sit in yaks that I am borrowing from a friend. He just had a baby and does not have the time to go yaking at the moment. So if anyone wants to get a trip together I have 2 extras. He may be interested in selling both of them if anyone is interested.

gas prices are coming down and you buy a 'yak. Next thing I know I'll get a phone call from you asking where the federal water line is at in Fourchon because you done paddled yourself out of Belle Pass.

I'd like to get one, but will probably wait a little longer.

Your just in time for the Ride the Bull 3 tournament at Bridgeside Marina though. It is August 18, 2012 and is a bull red fishing tournament for 'yaks ONLY. http://www.calmwatercharters.net/ridethebull/index.html
PADDLE-CRAFT ONLY: no trolling motors / gas engines / “mother ships” - all paddlecraft will be exclusively human powered for the duration of the time on the water. No engines (electric or gas), sails, or towing assistance from motor or sail vessels will be permitted during fishing or traveling from the launch area. All fish must be hooked and boated from the paddle craft; no beaching the kayak to fish

I enjoy the two kayak shows on World Fishin Network. One focuses on bass and the other is all about in and offshore fishin.

I've always wanted one just for the workout you'd get from cruising a few hours.
