Any luck on the Ross Barnett??????

Postby Chad » Mon Dec 17, 2001 8:59 am

Was wandering if anybody had any luck this weekend? Could not wade to my normal spot, but found a new spot. Had a few birds come in, but not enough to speak of. How about you'll??

5 hunters, 2 woodies. Saw no big ducks at all, very little shooting as well. I'm tired of busting my tail for a wood duck. I don't know what else to do but wait.

I know what you are talking about. Especially if you do not have a boat and have to wade out there. Hopefully should be better towards the middle of January.

You need to keep yours eyes open. They won't bother you if you don't bother them. Also if you carry a few chickens in your pocket's that will keep them occupied long enought to get away

four hunter Sat. Morning. We got one Woodie duck, but saw plenty of woodies. We had one group of Malllards surprise us and caught us with our pants down adding to the water level! Next time we go one at a time!

I've seen plenty of birds in the refuge out there but haven't had any luck in the river to speak of. I usually put in up river somewhere. I don't know if it is better or worse. It all seems to be fairly poor now.
Perhaps at 463 there are more birds?

Sat. 3 hunters 7 ducks (3 greens, 4 woodies)
Sun. 3 hunters 1 duck 3 canadas (diffrent location)

Been a good season so far, saturday and sunday have been the 2 slowest days this year. Every day we have come out with at least 10 birds (not including sat and sun). I like being in a lease and not haseling with the public land.

Mr.Waddel.....I guess you do like being in a lease...some dont get that pleasure....maybe if you all were not looking at wake boarding magazines you could kill a few more ducks..
