"THe tree of liberty must be refreshed with the blood of patriots" Thomas Jefferson. It is pretty sad but we will probably see a civil war in my lifetime. Stock up on ammo boys.

The politicians brought this junk up and it was the dumb booty judges that agreed with them. What is troubling is that one of the Bush conservative judges went with the left wing this time. IF you will remember it was a 5-4 split our way on the 2nd amendment. Now I am afraid to think what it woudl be if they voted on it today. The SC judges can bought as easily as the politicians can.
We are not too far from a revolution I don't think, at least I hope.
It was Chief Justice Roberts that was the deciding vote on this. He even wrote the majority decision in this case. You can't blame it on "socialist liberals" this time...
My point exactly..... This time it was one of the "Conservative" judges that Bush put in there that swung the pendilum this time...not that conservative and aligned with the "People of the US" anymore. The vast majority of the country doesn;t want this, yet the politicians and now the dam Supreme Court are telling us that we don;t know what is good for us, let them decide for us.

So why is it the right decision for Massachusetts, but the end of the world for the country? because a democrat proposed it?farmerc83 wrote:As it should be, a state by state issue.umrebs wrote:Are ya'll talking about the supreme court upholding romneycare? ^^^The citizens of the USofA have always been more open to state by state governing than federal law. Nothing to do with D vs R, just think something as broad as healthcare is better handled at the state level.

Re: Federal Government officially OWNS us now....
I don't give a crap who proposed it. The issue is not who, but what. What it is is a massive tax increase; the largest the world has ever seen. It gives the government the power to make you buy anything they want, and if you don't have the money they can force you to sell anything and everything you have in order to buy it. How the hell can anybody think that's a good thing?!umrebs wrote:So why is it the right decision for Massachusetts, but the end of the world for the country? because a democrat proposed it?farmerc83 wrote:As it should be, a state by state issue.umrebs wrote:Are ya'll talking about the supreme court upholding romneycare? Do you even understand the concept of federalism? Or do you just have your head stuck in the sand like everybody celebrating outside the SC? Reckon they'll be celebrating when they're denied treatment because they don't contribute enough to society?

Wow! I guess I just don't see this as the end of the world... Some poor kid gets to live and I help pay for it... I don't see how that is a terrible thing... Maybe my head is in the sand though...

I guess it's just me. I have a problem with the government dictating things to me. I tend to like to rule my own life and make my own decisions. I dang sure don't need a politician in his ivory tower in Washington to tell me how to do it.
I'm all for caring for people and providing care where it's needed, but I don't think that's big brother's job. If you think the government does a good job of healthcare, just ask anybody in the health care field how many regulations they already have to follow and how "easy" medicare is to deal with. That's our future times 100.
The whole premise to this bill was false from the beginning. Nobody was denied care. If you broke your arm or got shot you got taken care of, regardless of ability to pay.

Some poor kid or struggling single parent I don't mind it's all the able bodied non-swimmers and the single mothers with 10 kids running around confused on father’s day that bother me. Not to mention a small business with 40 or so employees that want be able to grow unless they have opportunity to double or triple in size, growing from 40 to 51 employees means less profit due to health care cost.

Whiel soem poor kid gets to live, some lazy no good SOB gets anothe free ride in an ambulance for a damn headache and you and I pay for it.umrebs wrote:Wow! The underlieng issue is more than "healthcare" it is the fact that the GOV can now force you to buy something!!! Do you not understand this.
You want to buy a Chevy, but the gove now requires you to buy a Ford
You like to shoot a remington, but now the gov. says you must shoot a mossberg (assuming you can still have damn gun in the near future)
You like Coke, gove says drink Pepsi
You don't want to pay into a 401K for retirement, gove says you have to
You want this the gov says you have to have that
etc..etc...etc...
Do you understand this isn;t as much about Health care as it is the gov. creeping too far into our lives and telling us what to do and not to do and what we have to purchase and not purchase, where we can go and not go!!!!
Get your head out of your &^% and smell the coffee

The residents of Massachusetts seem to really like romneycare and it's been in effect for six years now.

Re: Federal Government officially OWNS us now....
I just read an article about businesses in... France? (I can't recall for sure but I think it's France) that all have 1 employee less than the cap. If the owner wants to expand, he starts a completely new business. Seems there are thousands of companies with X-1 employees and lots of businessmen who own multiple companies. More government regulations lead to more loopholes for people to abuse. I can't say that I blame them.DEERHUNT wrote:Some poor kid or struggling single parent I don't mind it's all the able bodied non-swimmers and the single mothers with 10 kids running around confused on father’s day that bother me. Re: Federal Government officially OWNS us now....
I don't like the government telling us what we have to do either. The one thing people mention that I see this helping is......rural hospitals are going to get a lot of help out of this. You may actually see healthcare improve in these places. Hospitals right now are forced to treat people that can't pay. That money already comes from the taxpayers. At least now, these hospitals and the people working there will always get paid instead of having to provide a lot of free care. Despite what a lot of people think.....there's a ton of physicians out there that are making less than 100K a year now......and have a ton of debt coming out of school. They've looked in depth at this and the MS Delta may prosper in certain ways.
Re: Federal Government officially OWNS us now....
What part of people being responsible for taking care of themselves and their kids are you so opposed to? Removing responsibility and consequence seems to be the essence of the current democrat party, so what the hell is so bad about personal responsibility and consequences?umrebs wrote:Wow!
