Pervert.

Chattanooga makes me think of the fly fishing trip where we got to personally meet Smoky Mountain Search and Rescue. For about 5 hours.

I wish I could tell you what exit it was me and my buddies got off on that night to get gas. If I did I would warn you with your life. It involved 10 year olds with crack rocks on bicycles and black hookers with gladware-embalmed oatmeal and red weenie dinners. They like quarters, a lot. You can't make that chit up.

When we left the only word uttered was, "we ain't at Ruby Falls no more toto."

What do you mean by pervert? He was asking if they were staying at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel. It's where I stayed when I went there 2 years ago. It aint nothing fancy btw. There are some pretty swanky eateries downtown close to the aquarium. The aquarium is pretty darn neat I must say, probably the most memorable part of the trip next to asking the Russian weightlifting woman in the convenience store where we bought beer if she had any magnum condoms.

I haven't been in years, but Rib and Loin BBQ would be one place I would eat.

Good timing on this post. We are going up there next week for a little vacation and race. I know we are going to hit the aquarium and I was told the childrens museum was very good. I have a 7 year old and 4 year old so I have to find things to keep them occupied.

For Kids I agree with the Kid's Museum downtown, Aquarium,..... Ruby Falls and Rock City are kind of Cheesy but the Kids will probably like them...lot of places downtown to eat...but the Choo Choo is cool for kids if they like trains (huge model train set up) 2 places to eat on site...one is Station House..seems like the food was fair..but different with "singing Servers" and live band....Staying in one of the "cars" if worth doing for a couple..not sure if young kids would appreciate it...they have a regular hotel..older, very average.............hit the brakes just south of nooga at Trenton ,Ga and Hang Glide http://www.hanglide.com/news/?page_id=7 .... there was a shop up on lookout Mt that you can just watch... Go 20 min North of Nooga and Hang a right at Cleveland tn........ Head towards Ocoee Tn and white water raft ( kids must be 12 yr) but i think all ages can tube the lower section....ride on up the mountain to Ocoee lake ...rent a boat and ski or boat ride....few more miles up to the Olympic center watch the Rafters if the river is running, chk the schedule and if the water is off swim in the "blue hole"...ton of rafting Guides in Ocoee..Google it..I recommend OAR...or NOC...drive east from ocoee..take a break in Benton at the " Benton"s shooters Supply" then head towards Reliance...(Bango Music--very rural--love it--few cabins in the area..) trout fish and Float the Hiwassee ..www.Hiwasseeoutfitters.com www.hiwasseeangler.com before you get to Reliance stop and glide http://chilhowee.com/ or stop at the nearby winery http://chilhowee.com/

The Nantahala and the Ocoee are just east of Chattanooga. Great rafting and kayaking.

The river walk area is real nice with some neat shops and places to eat. I always stop in choo choo fly and tackle.

Mom mom and her whole side of the family are from there.

My dad did his residency in Chattanooga and we lived there for a few years. I was really young but we have gone back to visit a good bit since my step mom is from Chattanooga and my step brother and step sister live up there now.

The incline railroad is neat and the aquarium is pretty cool! Like Champ said, River Walk is a nice area. If you want to go whitewater rafting, send me a PM. My step-brother is a professional kayaker and has worked as a guide for a few of the rafting companies up there. I'm sure we can put you in touch with a good one! I just sent them both messages asking for "local recommendations" on food and whatnot. My step-mom's family used to own the Town and Country restaurant but it closed several years back. Rock City of course is a tourist trap but if you haven't been, its something to do. I will post up a list of recommendations for restaurants when I hear back from them.
