Most of the structural engineers I've been fortunate to work with won't give you a straight answer without a clearly identified set of 'fixed' parameters............ :lol: :lol:........so good luck.

im technically a mechanical but do nothing but structural analysis on offshore oil rigs.. what ya got?

Engineering isn't exactly a shooting for the hip type of profession. Generally there are calculations involved.

Tell it brother! Wind,water,earthquake,bad soil issues, loading, life safety,etc,etc. You know, little items that tend to jump up and bite you in the ass!

THe difference between john q. public and a licensed engineer.....................the one with the license should know better and in fact can go to jail for giving $#!+ advise. :D

Yep yep would not lose my liscense for something just shooting from hip. Or should say don't want to lose it for not thinking something through. Not a structural engineer though so really couldn't help
