Most of the structural engineers I've been fortunate to work with won't give you a straight answer without a clearly identified set of 'fixed' parameters............

im technically a mechanical but do nothing but structural analysis on offshore oil rigs.. what ya got?

THe difference between john q. public and a licensed engineer.....................the one with the license should know better and in fact can go to jail for giving $#!+ advise.

Yep yep would not lose my liscense for something just shooting from hip. Or should say don't want to lose it for not thinking something through. Not a structural engineer though so really couldn't help
