residential sewar treatment plants

anyone have much experience with these things? i have a piece of property that is going to require one in order to build a house on it. the health department is rewuiring me to have a spray or a drip system. anyone have any do's or dont's or brands to stay clear of??

HOOT system with drip disposal.

We have a treatment plant. We have lived there less than a year but so far no problems. Apparently ours was put in before they made the regulations of requiring a sprinkler system. Our's just drains into the back property. I think the main thing is watching what you put in it down the drains. Our aeriator is a Cajun Air but not sure the brand of anything else.

I have a sprinkler system and it's a pain in the hind end. It requires constant attention so there is no odors. You have use certain laundry detergent, etc so it will not kill the active bacteria needed for decompostion. I try to drain it every year at a cost of atleast $200...

Some folks don't have any issues... I'm not that lucky.

Drip if at all possible.
Its been a long time but you can go to the health dept website and get the specs and books on overland flow disposal and sprinklers as well a other criteria for installing them. Pick a certified contractor will knowledge on putting them in...........it will make the paperwork and you life easier.

Aqua Kleer in Pearl put it in... it's going on 10 years old.
