gonna skew the subject a bit....

corona extra is much a'kin to jose guapo's urinalysis specimen after a rough and rocky weekend of speedballs and schlitz malt liquor ...more-so after red hook ipa, yazoo pale ale, anchor steam and liberty ale.... i forget this until my favorite fridge is baron of all that is palatable and my choice is abita strawberry, refried coors light from left field lounge, and a few abandoned corona extra.....PISS I SAY!!!

Had a Fort Collins ale in Atl that was outstanding. Everything from Fort Collins has been good stuff. Also tried a Left Hand milk stout on draft. Forgot how tasty that one is. For those folks that really like Bell's Two Hearted ale, it's every place I look in Bham right now. It's seasonal... might be time for some of yall to make a road trip.
Never assume.

having a florida beer swamp ape ipa that is tastey! reminds me a lot of harpoon leviathan ipa...rich on the back end with a good burst of flavor on the front end.

also, got a steven's point (wisconsin) brewery whole hog limited edition 6 hop ipa that i haven't tried, yet....won't be long, though!
*upon review.....not that great...i was looking for much more complexity and flavor w/ 6 hops used. i haven't placed the after taste, but it is something I'm not fond of...dissappointed, but flavor may be different as a "first beer" and there is no bias because it didn't match the flavor profile of a favorite ipa's profile that i just had.

*also in fridge: jackamo ipa, magic hat #9, two hearted ale (got a case put back at tobacco row liquor to pick up on the way out thurs), and sweetwater ipa.....(glenmorengie "the quinta ruban" extra aged in port casks 12yo and dalwhinnie 18yo single malts a'top the fridge! )

the beach is azzed out!!!! ....havin' a good time...watching' the sun shine....never the wrong time...livin' the moontime, time to live it up!

finally found timber beast (rye ipa) and i'm not crazy about it yet, but will give it another taste thinking it wasn't the right pairing(?)/ attitude when drank (piss poor, by my own admittance)/ or just the wrong time of day, but it had a somewhat soured aftertaste to me... not a fan of rye whiskey either, though.

trappistes rochefort #8 was very impressive...#6 was good, but would reach for the #8 if given an option.
rogue imperial ipa - it was really good, but was expecting a lot more body from an imperial ipa that costs about $7.75 per pint (about $15.75 at one place and $15.50 at another).
shipyard monkey fist ipa and shipyard xxx ipa were both good. the xxx ipa reminds me a bit of harpoon leviathan, although lacking some body in the middle.

First and foremost, I am a spirits kind of man. I like bourbon mainly, but will take a good gin and tonic in the heat of the summer.

BUT....I was at Soulshine Pizza the other night and they had the Abita Andigators on tap and I let them flow....like normal budlight on tap when I have to drink beer.....Never will I ever drink these fancy beers like normal beers....WOOF! My head hurt all the next day. Just a word to the wise if'n youre not a fancy beer kind of guy.

I was in Orange Beach recently and had dinner at Cobalt. While waiting for a table we had a few Good People IPAs at the bar. Good People is made Bham and just started canning some of their selections. I must say that the IPA is worth a try. I even picked up a six pack at the Publix the next day. Their IPA has full body taste and not exactly something to knock back while beachside, but they are very good nonetheless.

Any place with a decent selection close to Madison.
