I watched a 5ft king snake slither into my wood pile the other day. I was shooting my bow in the back yard and walked up on him. Startled me at first, but when I realized it was a king snake, I thought..."go get 'em boy" He was hopefully headed into the wood pile after another snake.

Black snake with yellow speckles all over them. Only snake that looks anything like that to my knowledge.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

And how about a black king. I thought they looked similar except that the specked had spots. And the one in the pic doesn't have much in the way of spots.

Ol Karl eats whatever I throw in there. He loves mice. It doesn't take five seconds when I drop one in there and he's on that little sob. Any snake I've put in there is gone as long as its not longer than half his size. He has never tried to bite me or any of my students.

Look closely and you can see the yellow specks on the back of the snake. They aren't real prominent though. Very cool picture, btw.

The speckled and the black are both subspecies of the Eastern king snake, so I'm sure they can vary a little.

But, the speckled will look more like this.

And the black more like this.
