Maxus or new A5

Postby DINK » Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:59 am

Has anybody used either of these Browning guns? Looking to get one of them this fall. Anybody have any issues pro or cons with them? Are they as good as Browning says?

I've had a Maxus for 2 years now. I absolutely love it. Shoulders and swings great and no issues whatsoever.

Stay away from Duratouch. Personally I'd go Maxus

Got a Maxus for last season. Love it. It does come with Duratouch coating if that bothers you.

Got a maxus last season, hate it. Buy a mossberg.

Wow...NO!

Maxus is a proven performer, new A5 is a gamble. Another great option for waterfowling--lightly used Jap A5 mag-12 with invectors. Less money, needs cleaning only every decade or so, all machined steel, super reliable. If it fits you, you'll never want anything else.
you did put in the plug, right?

I have an SX3 (very similar to Maxus), it rules. No 3.5" option on the new A5 yet, if that even matters to you.

The limited times I have shot the new Maxus I was VERY impressed. Little to no kick with 3" duck loads, and shouldered very well... :D

I won't want to be the guinea pig for any new gun. Give the A5 a year and see what the reviews say.

Yeaaah, that "illegitimate child". Crazy joker he knows better. If it don't say Charles Daly, I don't touch it.

I'd be interested in hearing of someone's experience with any current production Browning and Customer Service. Mine hasn't been that great........since then I vowed never to buy another current production Browning firearm. That's been about 12 years ago, I believe........and I've kept my promise.

How a gun performs when it's brand new is one thing, but when one develops a problem - how the manufacturer handles it is something entirely different.
