Not a bad car until you get ready to STOP! JK - hopefully they got that issue resolved.

I can't tell you how many Camry's I've had for rental cars in the last 2 years. I can't stand them. Them and Chevy Impalas have to be THE most boring cars in the world.
As for reliability and all that, I'm sure they are fine. For the money, I prefer the Altima, or a VW Passat. But whichever she likes best.

My wife had an 04 camry and she loved it. Now my daughter has it 200k+ miles. Greatest car we ever owned. We looked at the new camry's and was not impressed at all. If the new ones were like her 04 we would have gotten her a new camry. We ended up getting her a maxima. Very pleased with it.

Smart man. I can get her a VPP discount if she changes her mind.JFW2006 wrote:Yea shes looked at the altimas thats her two choices camry an altima but shes leaning more toward the camry....i try to stay out of it much as possible lol

The new ones are completely different than the ones you droveduramax wrote:I can't tell you how many Camry's I've had for rental cars in the last 2 years. I can't stand them. Them and Chevy Impalas have to be THE most boring cars in the world.

A man who won't has no advantage over the man who can't.

Wife had a passat when we first started dating. It had the 2.0 T motor.duramax wrote:I can't tell you how many Camry's I've had for rental cars in the last 2 years. I can't stand them. Them and Chevy Impalas have to be THE most boring cars in the world.

On a side note what's up with the small oil filter access holes you have to stick your hand in a slice up your wrist on most of these foreign jobs...

These are new ones. I drove one last month fresh off the lot. The newest model does look slightly better and is bigger, but they still are completely bland, and drive like crap. And man are they slooooow. Altima's and Maxima's at least give you some feeling that you aren't simply doing the next best thing to taking public transportation.Rice wrote:The new ones are completely different than the ones you droveduramax wrote:I can't tell you how many Camry's I've had for rental cars in the last 2 years. I'm sure they are perfectly fine cars, and my friend has had terrific luck with his mid 2000 model, but I find them very boring. Just my opinion.

You DO realize that nowadays, that is just getting 'broken in', don't you?ducman77 wrote:Wife loves hers. Says she wants another one next year. Bought the Camry new in 09 has close to 100k. No problems yet.
Nobody owes you anything.
Re: Toyota Camry...
Have you looked at Accord's? I just bought one for my work vehicle (parked my truck, cept when I need it). Gets about 28 on the road at 75-80 mph and with V-6 lots of go, I like mine but sounds like she's set on a camry
Re: Toyota Camry...
Up until recently my wife has not owned anything but an Accord. Her last one was an '08 model and it would FLY! It was a really nice car. Good mileage too.
Re: Toyota Camry...
I dont see any problem with the camry we got a like new 2011 model today test driving it...its got plenty of power for her and it drives and rides great to me....and about $12000 less than a brand new one so were probably gona get it!

LOL! I drive a lot of rentals too and thats exactly what I say about an Impala. the most boring car in the world! I've only had one Camry as a rental.
A Camry isn't exciting, but they are good cars.
