The new Duckmen video

Postby MSDuckmen » Mon Aug 09, 2004 12:47 pm

Latest Duckmen video.
As many times as I have tried I can’t make myself like Phil Robertson.
A friend came over with the latest tape and I thought for awhile when watching it that this may be one of his better videos. Then came the same stupid remarks that he tends to say from time to time. Ex: Plunking a ducks removes your manhood. Working in a flower garden strips you of your manhood. A woman chewing tobacco is one hella-va catch.

Then the old boy has a cooking segment that shows him in the kitchen cooking ducks, making dressing and turnip greens. Where’s the manhood in wearing an apron and cooking.

He has more spinners than a shooting gallery and from this video they group shot the crap out of ducks at ranges that I wouldn’t even attempt to shoot. If you can count to three with 1 thousand in between before it hits the water they are sky blasting anyway you put it.
The man has the ability to groom so many young hunters yet he tends to say the absurd in order to sell the tapes. It is nothing more than another example of how money controls the actions of human beings.

He may be a fine person but he is a jerk on tape…

To be honest I didn't care too much for it either..........probably one of the worst one's he's produced. All the hunts were in Texas and Mexico.....hunting holes that the birds had to come to for water.......yet still used mojos. Every scene looked like the same hunting spot........but the catfish skinning scene was da bomb.......

GH22 -

Texas and Mexico.....hunting holes that the birds had to come to for water.......yet still used mojos

I guess shooting ducks in TX is easy since they have to come to water here. They feed early and head back to water and loaf all day. They feed late and come back to roost.

You could flip that argument and say they used mojos hunting holes that the birds had to come to for food like in MS, LA, and AR....right?

Don't think for one minute that birds in the pan handle don't have 1000 choices for water through the multitude of playas and tanks (not to mention huge reservoirs and private lakes).

Talk about spread out and hard to pattern...here today and gone tomorrow.

anyway - not a big Phil fan either.

i have no problem with hunting in texas and mexico, however, i do enjoy watching ms/ark/la delta on a video. All in what you like. My main problem with it is the commercialism (don't know if that's a word) in it. Seems like it's one big commercial once you get into it, then he starts the 5 huor cooking segment.....

The current video is called Duckmen 8, "How the west was won". This is the worst video the Duck Commander has released. He seems to have forgoton his roots, the early videos were really good.
