How is the duck hunting in the area around Marks, MS, not just right now but also in general? My club is looking at some land in that area. Thanks for the info, guys.

I could not speak for the present, but two years ago I hunted in the Marks area and we had a pretty good season. My best advice is that you go and scout the area and see for yourself.........

I hunted there pretty frequent several years ago and it was a watse of time until it got good and cold, the ducks just seem to go southwest at Tunica, I moved north closer to Tunica and my daily take increased 100 fold.

through there about 10 days ago .
Talked with GW at O'kefe & he said had few
ducks

I have hunted just north west of Marks for the past 4 or 5 years, and it has usually been a good area. Hunting a break, and not fields. I don't know what it will be like this year since everyone planted cotton instead of beans and rice though. It could effect the ducks coming to that area in general. But across the state, cotton acreage is up and rice down. It will be interesting to see how the ducks react to that.

Yes JT, that is right. There are no ducks in that area. I don't believe I would look for duck hunting around Marks......bad idea Look somewhere else.

I killed the Limit by 8:00 sunday morning at Marks. On a place I got for sale. Mostly greenheads and gadwalls but you probably don't want to shoot those.

I usually hunt all around there and do fairly well. It just depends on the ducks in the area and if there is enough hunting pressure on Whiting Brake.Well Whiting Brake has plenty of pressure this year. I would go scout it out especially during duck season, but I thank it would be worth it. I have been hunting in that area for my whole life and killed a lot of ducks down there.

Whiting Brake... we have started a guide service there. Advertising through the DU magazine, Field & Stream and Miss Outdoors. Charging $250 a gun per day. Have put photos of the place on every website / chat board we can find. Have booked 1,000 friends of DamnYankee from Illinios to come down....

I am kidding. But gentlemen, be real careful about putting up specifics on the boards. Arkansas season closes before Mississippi, and those Razorbacks are constantly looking for some public place to hunt. If you have a honey hole, keep it that way... just my 2 cents worth.
