finally glad to see W is using the best form of campaigning, just let the dumb booty give a few more speechs, while he himself just lays low, so the american public can really see how "slow" this "walking, lying, contradiction" is.

I think they'll say and do anything to get elected. Sometimes they don't sound like politicians at all. They sound like a ringmaster at the circus.

Unless you have a degree in Political Science...you might want to look up the word Socialism before you throw it around as narrow minded folks so often do...and FYI , historically,,,,a political liberal is one who espouses change from the present system or status quo.....a political conservative would be one who prefers the current system or status quo...

America was not founded as a pure democratic nation...our system was a compromise..read the Federalist Papers and study Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, etc if you really want to know...

America was founded on egalitarian principles....majority rule, but with protections for the minoritiy ( and no Im not talking about black folks) I mean any group of people who might hold a view different from those held by the majority or MOB and every man given equal opportunity based on his/her skills, qualifications, and desire to excel NOT on his family, name, wealth, or social position...as it had been in Europe and England for 1000 years or so....AND on religous tolerance...for beliefs and faiths that were not tolerated in Europe/England.

All I see today among right wingers is a lack of tolerance for any religious belief that differs from their own, a strong desire to impose their narrow view of life/family whatever on others....and a desire to protect their current position of social/economic status at the expense of others who seek to better themselves...

I guarantee you the very, very few white families in the south that have amassed fortunes in the 50 million plus are happy to have the poor and lower middle income white southerners on their side...that way, they wont have to pay appropriate property taxes on the hundreds of thousands of acres of timber land they inherited from their great grandaddy, they wont have to pay inheritance taxes on the millions in appreciation to their assets (something we all do normally its called capital gains) and the next generation of lazy, narrow minded, ill educated Bubba can ride around in his truck and make fun of those less fortunate than he...

Right Wing Republicans today remind me alot of the sorts of things people crossed an ocean to escape 400 years ago !

Somehow the wingers have convinced lower middle income and poor white southerners that any view other than theirs will somehow result in queers and minorities knocking down the doors to their homes, and stealing their bibles...their daughters or their guns !

Tolerance, Open Mindedness and Consideration for your fellow man.....give it a try..

And why in the heck do you care whether or not 2 women are kissing in San Fran ? or whether a well educated, hard working black man is successful ? I dont care for interracial marriage/relationships...but best I can tell thats a job for their mommas and daddies...not me...

Right Wingers mischaracterize the views and beliefs of the Democratic party....believe it or not, they are the ones who brought you the factories and plants to the poor south and brought high paying jobs for lower middle class WORKING folks in the South...you know...the jobs that have all gone overseas now ??

In short, if you want to keep up the 50 million plus net worth group and make sure they keep getting richer...vote republican...

If you want good jobs and opportunity for working people (white and black and yellow and brown) in the South (Mississippi being one of the poorest most underdeveloped places on this continent) then vote Democrat... I guarantee you they wont take your guns, your bible, or make your daughters marry black folks....

This narrow minded, thoughtless dribble I see on here day in and day out makes me sick....I come here to read about duck hunting and keep seeing this Rush Limbaugh Cr Ap....It makes me sick...

Oh and for the record,,,I am a college educated, 7th generation white southerner, married to a white girl, got white children, hunt whenever I can, go to church often, and pretty much do what my grandmother taught me whenever possible.

I think one of the biggest problems with the Democratic party is most of the party is voting republican......

there's a reason too!

I also am a white, college edjumicated, no idea what southern generation, married to a white with 3 kids, church going(baptist) male...

and I completely disagree with hwy61....but hey, It's america, and I can do that If I want to......

John Kerry isn't the answer to the problems we face......whether he was a democrat or republican....

You are right..thats one of the many things that makes this country great.
We can agree to disagree.

I only get ticked when folks seem to blindly follow others without the benefit of independent thought...

IE- I vote for Republicans cuz my preacher said I should. IMHO its not your preacher's place to tell you who to vote for...unless he is talking about who to vote for as head of your church picnic comittee !!

(Separation of Church and State was an idea formulated in the 18th century by such wackos as Jefferson, Adams, Monroe, Washington, etc.., to avoid the imposition and acceptance of one particular religion ie-The Catholic Church or The Church of England) and give folks the opportunity to worship at the church of their choice...ie The Baptist Church.. Whether you like it or not..It is one of the fundamental precepts of our national identity.

Ironically, American religous conservatives....predominately conservative protestant denominations, are trying their hardest to impose their will and their views/ spiritual/moral values upon the nation as a whole. Just what the English and Europeans did 300 years ago ? Now where is the logic in that.....

I admit the Dems have got some whackos on the fringe....ie-Sharpleton, Jackson, just to name a few. But hey, so do the Repubs....Jerry Falwell, Chief Justice Roy Moore of Alabama, Rush Limbaugh, etc... (If you dont think those guys are wackos, then dont bother reading any further)

Most Americans if they actually think about it, fall more to the middle...either less conservative repubs or more conservative dems...I think its the folks on the fringes of both parties that keep us from getting along...

Since Ive crawled into this thorn thicket....I have one question more and then I will shut up....

How do crop subsidies paid to farmers NOT TO PLANT, differ from welfare checks paid to poor folks who wont work or cant work ?

Our system is full of examples of corporate welfare, but Ive yet to meet a Rep who can explain why their gimmes are more deserved than those paid to the poorest in our society...

Now I know Ive opened a can of worms, but if you are honest with yourself, you will see my point...for the rest, there is no hope Im afraid.

Kerry may not be the man, but one thing is for sure,,,, Dubbya is definitely NOT the man..he has had his chance......

If you'll notice, the constitution was founded on the ten commandments and Christian principles. The Supreme Court has the ten commandments on the wall in there! You swear on a Bible in court before you take your seat.

Separation of Church and State was never about being anti-Christian, it was about not having an "official" religion like "The Church of England" as the national religion, or Saudi Arabia being Muslim. The reason this whole thing has gotten blown out of proportion has been because of you fanatical athiest people who think the whole damn world would be better off without Christians and Christianity. You protest everything until you get your way. It's not the "majority rules" anymore, it's who bitches the most, and then you no longer have a Democracy, you have an oligarchy(rule of few over many). In that aspect, you're no different than the fanatical Muslims screaming Jihad.
Sometimes the best call is no call at all...
