Rhymes is a great hitter, but he's a great college hitter that is really hot. He's nothing like Yarbrough as a hitter. They are two different players completely, when draft comes well see who is who. Not taking away from Rhymes cause undoubtedly having unbelievable season, but he's not the talent Yarbrough is as a hitter.

Yarbrough has also been doing it for 3 years.

Right now, Yarbrough is only a great college hitter too. That's what he'll remain until he hits at the next level. So whats YOUR point?

Just fouling up your theory is all...

Rhymes has had a better batting average than Yarbrough the last two years and he hit dang near .500 in JUCO so he is not just a good hitter who is really hot. One of those three years Yarbrough has been "doing it" whatever that means, he batted a whopping .250.... finished 20 points behind Rhymes last year as well soooooo

They are both good but to say he isnt as good as Yarbrough is purely opinion

My point is Yarbrough is a better talent with better tools that likely better translate beyond college...you really needed my to spell that out??? You couldn't figure that from the conversation??? I happen to base my opinion on more than batting avg, sorry that ruffles all the Ms State feathers that don't wanna give a Ole Miss player any props...I know it stings.

They are both good but to say he isnt as good as Yarbrough is purely opinion
Yarbrough his .283 as a true freshman in the SEC, in a year the SEC was really good mind you, not .250
Rhymes hit .483 the same year with only 2 few AB's at a DII JUCO with a JOKE of a schedule, and granted .483 is stellar against a pitching machine, still this is apples and oranges...

Yarbrough hit .350 at Ole Miss as centerpiece hitter in a bad lineup last season
Rhymes hit .360 at LSU as a unknown JUCO transfer getting fed fastballs...he didn't hit .370

This year Yarbrough is at .416 and Rhymes at .503 both in same conference, both highly respected hitters...all documented

So in all fairness, if we are just going off batting avg...I'm not giving one heads up...

BUT, I'm not going off batting avg at all...I think Yarbrough is more talented, as do plenty others that matter more than any of us...he hits from both sides of the plate, he swings with a lot more pop and he's a more dangerous hitter in a line-up...these aren't just an opinion, it's also easily re searchable in draft blogs and notes...Rhymes is a great contact hitter, but he simple does not have the same type tools as Yarbrough, and therefore I don't think he is as good a talent certainly in the future...sure, you could argue he is more valuable as a college hitter if you want, I'll take that, but wasn't ever my point to begin with
