Decided to quit dipping.
Re: Decided to quit dipping.
Oh and I dont miss the heartburn either.

Re: Decided to quit dipping.
I could eat an entire can right now and it's been almost 16 months since I had one. I don't think the "want" ever goes away.

I bet not. I dealt with the heartburn for years and finally came across zantac. It was incredible. I'm now addicted to zantac

No need to be scared. It's like riding a bike. You never forget how to.bottomland84 wrote:still going strong!! Heck Id be scared to try it now.

I feel so much better now that I did. You wont regret it.
Re: Decided to quit dipping.
I quit dipping years go. Things I remember about quitting: (1) it was difficult at first (2) the craving mostly went away after a few months (3) hunting and fishing were just as much fun without dipping (4) I saved lots of money not stopping to buy Copenhagen and the other stuff that I'd pick up while in the store (5) the craving went away altogether after about a year and has not come back. I agree that it's like crack and if I ever slipped up and did it again, I'd be right back at it. Quitting was worth the trouble.

Being sick like you have also helps im sure. Ive known alot of people get sick and their throat kills them and they stop. Heck thats how my dad stopped.
Ive told myself over and over to stop and this is the last can also. Just cant get my mind to think about something else. Ive stopped before but something always makes me go right back to it.

Do not ever try it again! You can't have just one pinch or you'll be right back on it! Trust me... I quit cold turkey for 2 years and got 1 pinch of copenhagen and dipped for 2 more years and finally quit again!
Re: Decided to quit dipping.
It all started when I started having anxiety issues. Alot of stress and crap was getting to me. I thought I was having heart problems. My doc sent me to a cardiologist. No probs. I finally hit my bottom and God got a hold of me some kinda good. I've since lost 20 pds. Live a Christian life and prayed for the cravings to go away and I lost the physical cravings on day 1, I kid you not! The power of God is amazing. The devil try's to mess with me mentally and remind me I'm missing something after dinner or driving or fishing, but I beat him everytime. If your having a struggle of any kind, give it to God. He will take it for you. This tread has helped me see the progress of me quitting snuff and will also serve as a testament that if me. Quackheadredlegbottomwhatever can make a change then anyone can. I let alot of crap lead my life before, but not anymore.
