Where's the best place to get some around Jackson? I need about 5 yards. I have a dump trailer to get it myself. Cost?

Re: Gravel
Under your name says Vicksburg. I know that when building roads on hunting clubs around the MS River Delta.....they always say all the gravel comes from Vicksburg. We are looking at building a road right now and are going to buy the gravel from Vicksburg......may want to look around there.

Re: Gravel
krystal gravel in crystal springs, they will have clay and washed gravel. Mississippi materials, martin marriette(sp), probably washed and crushed limestone. Tube City IMS did handle the slag rock from the steel mill in flowood, I actually like it better than wash gravel.

Re: Gravel
concrete washout is pretty good stuff. if you have a way to pack it, it will set really firm and works extremely well on hills. just out a good bit down (6") was pretty cheap up here 35/2yrd truck, dunno what it runs down there

Sam - Best place I found was the Ready Mix plant in Canton, but you should be able to find one closer to your location.
Seems like I paid around $40/yard for what they call "57" which is basically 1" & smaller.
You can also try MMC (Mississippi Materials Company). They were a little higher though.
