Sons first kill

Postby turkeyman » Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:36 am

Let me start off by saying I'm very very blessed to have the property I have bc it's flat loaded with turkeys as some of y'all have hunted with me out there. I heard 12 birds yesterday and 8 today. My buddy Alec Taylor and I hunt alot together and have been on many fun and interesting hunts but this one tops them all. We took my son this morning on a hunt knowing we would hear a few birds gobbling. Well we got there to our listening spot and hooted and we heard a bird sound off. Then we heard what sounded like 3 or 4 more so we took off to them. Well when we got there I hooted again and realized we were in between birds. 4 on our left and 2 on our right one which was close. Well we sat down and tree yelped just to let them know it was death time. We heard some birds fly down about 50 yards in front of us and then the fight was on. All you could hear was flapping and purring and spuring going on. Something got whopped. But the bird to our right had moved on in and walked out to b-mobile and the rest is history. 10 1/2 in beard 1 in spurs.

Congratulations to all. 8) 8) 8) Nothing like seeing um coming in fighting mad. Usually when they do, those heads and waddles are beat red.
