Turnout was good. We have grown from 6 teams to 10 teams in only our second season. Should be a great year.
There are several MSDuckers playing this year, Yall post up so everyone can keep up with your stats!

Man I wish Tupelo had a league. I bet if one would open up, there would be a ton of players to join the first year. I would love to shake the dust off my old cleats.

I will be moving from the Columbus area to Tupelo this summer. Do you know anyone in Tupelo that may have the desire to get this started? I would be willing to help.bottomland84 wrote:Man I wish Tupelo had a league. I bet if one would open up, there would be a ton of players to join the first year. Not so hot Big, only hit 0.250, but not too bad after not swinging at anything that fast in over 10 years!!bigwater wrote:Mudram. What your numbers look like last year?
It was a lot of fun for sure. Hope to improve this year, but the pitching has gotten tougher. We shall see.
I'll keep you guys posted on games/locations, etc.

What size bats do yall use? Do they have to be BBCOR bats? Reason I ask is the small school I help coach bought some new bats last season only to have to buy bats again this season because of the new BBCOR rule. Would love to sell these 1 yr old bats at a very reduced price if someone can use them? Have 5 bats, all -3, two of the bats are 33/30, one 34/31, one 32/29, and one 31/28. The smallest and largest bat has not hit 10 balls each. I would love to play with yall but know my talent level is no where near enough to be competitive. Hope yall have a lot of fun!!!
Are we gonna get wet?

If the rules are the same, this league is wood bat only.
I like the Marucci bats.

PMs sent on bats. They really are great bats and only one high school season worth of use. We do not even have a bat cage so not like they were hit with other than practice and games. Thanks for any effort, 14 boys on this baseball team so fundraising is a must.

Heck Id be up for it if it was closer to olive branch somewhere. Ive goten out of shape since my college game day but still have the fire! They have a softball league up here with the city but to much BS to me. Still got my gloves, cleats and bats!bottomland84 wrote:Man Im sure they would flood the field for an opportunity to play baseball.Bully wrote:I will be moving from the Columbus area to Tupelo this summer. first of all...I'm not making any sort of implication on anybody on this site, I'm only stating fact...
I've been doing what Mudd is doing in Jackson down here in Baton Rouge for now my 7th year. I have 3 different leagues and approx 300 players under the "umbrella". You would be shocked how many guys are in love with the concept, then don't stick it out, or run for the hills when the bills come due. It's a headache and a half, I don't know if it's a demographic issue or what, but it's a never ending battle to get guys to stick to and honor their commitments, regardless of how serious they think it is, somebody has to take up the slack they leave behind. They want you to run it in a certain manner, but they don't feel the need to do their part to make it worthwhile.
You'd also be shocked how many will pay you money, then just roll out and never answer the phone, email, etc. they just bail...it's not a fun job at times...it's opened my eyes tremendously to how much (in my opinion) integrity is lacking in our society overall, even among people you'd not expect until you really get into dealings with them.
