Plastic fuel tank repair????

Postby South Woods » Wed Feb 22, 2012 6:29 pm

Got a tear in the fuel tank on a on of my tractors. Anybody know someone that can weld plastic, or know of an epoxy of some sort that I can use. I have been referred to a dupont product called dp-8005?

Let me know what you come up with. I have a similar situation on my tractor. Not a tear, but it does leak somewhere if you fill it up past 3/4.

Search the Refuge AR section. I remember some guy having that issue a while back. He got lots of comments, I dont know if he found a resolution or not.

Orileys sells a tube of putty that is a marine grade, it can be used on fuel tanks. I have had a patch on my lawn mower for 2 years now no problems. I will try to find the name tonight when I get home.
