Choke for H and R

I just purchased a H and R single shot shotgun. What type of choke fits a H and R pardner single shot shotgun? It is an 1980 something model because it has the original bottomland camo patern. It already has a H and R choke but I was looking at getting an after market choke. I have been reading that winchester and Mossberg 500 choke fits H and R guns. Is this true or is there something else out there??? Thanks for the help.

I put a Browning Invector in my HR. I believe that what is supposed to fit.

And mine is an older model with the old school camo. It's awesome

What brand of choke do you use and what shell and size shot? Mine can shoot the 3 1/2" shells but I was thinking about just going with a 3" shell, maybe a hevi shot or winchester elite hi-density shot.

I have the same gun and spent more money on chokes and shells trying to get it to pattern properly. Finally settled on a MADD Max choke tube that the Drury guys sell. Ended up shooting 2/3/4 Nitros with 4/5/7 hevi mix. It is the only thing that I could get to pattern. I went thru Kicks, Pure Gold, Patternmaster and a winchoke that will fit it. Mine only has a 22 inch barrel and I believe that is the problem. 3s or 3.5s creat just too much pressure. The choke that I ended up with extends the barrel lengt by about 2 inches but is slotted for almost the entire choke. Not just holes like most tubes. Anyway, that worked for me and I love the gun. Killed lots of turkeys with it. I got mine thru NWTF and it has a straight stock and the NWTF emblem embossed on it. Not very many of them around. I think that they only sold it one year. I wouldn't part with it for the world. I've always had a tendency to shoot low with it. Don't know if the straight stock does that or not but I've shot several turkeys with it that I hit lower that where I was aiming. I have it at a gunsmith now getting a rail added on it and am going to put a tru glo gobbler stopper on it this spring. Hope that works and I've resisted doing it for years. I knocked the bead off of it the first year that I had it so I've always just looked down the barrel. No wonder I shoot low huh? I'm really a kind of old school turkey hunter so this is gonna be a big change for me.

Where are you getting this done if I may ask? I've been wanting to put a reddot scope on mine, and it's even been tapped for mounts, but the holes are too far apart for my scope and would require a one piece rail mount.

I see youre in Huntsville. I'm in Bham, but have a buddy that could take my gun up that way if there's a gunsmith that could do that mount. Local shop around says they couldn't do it

Dean Black in Springville, AL. About 1/2 hour from B'ham. He's a master gunsmith and can fix you up. He's not fast though. May be iffy on getting it done before turkey season but I'm sure that if you talked to him he could let you know.
