I saw one of the guys doing the study Tday in rolling fork. He said it's not gps and has a 2 mile range. They are tracking movement in the Area.

If it was gps I can guarantee you they'd get the transmitter back ASAP. I'm also suspicious of the claim that the bird was transported from Minnesota to be released in Mississippi.

My apologies gentlemen the guy that killed the duck’s name is Quinn he lives in McComb, MS and that was only about the 3rd duck hunt he has ever been on. When I posted the information I was going off of what he told me and the conversation that transpired between him and the biologist. As far as the transmitter I have not personally seen it so I am not sure if it’s a Satellite duck with GPS or the commonly killed Radio transmitter duck. When he gets home from offshore maybe I will ride over to his house and water board him just to make sure he got all his facts straight. I will let yall know how that turns out so we can clear up all this speculation.

Seriously I posted the picture and story because I thought it was a pretty neat trophy something that very few of us that duck hunt will ever kill. And the information is verbatim of what I was told. If the information is wrong I can assure you it was not done intentionally or to bolster the story.

I would be proud to kill it! Truly a rarity.

I think it's neat too. He did verify it was shot shortly after release. He was from Ohio and had a ms game and fish truck. They have been catching them around vicksburg and hollandale.

That waterboard comment was funny. It is a trophy regardless and very cool to boot. We just have a bunch of experts of everything on this board these days.
