Best Reward Credit Card
Best Reward Credit Card
This topic came up a few months back and most folks preferred the Cabelas card. I have a GM card but don't plan to purchase another GM vehicle. Anyone use any other reward card that they would recommend? The wife is wanting to get a Disney reward card? Anyone have a Disney reward card?

American Express. Yes, you have to pay it off every month, but the reward points add up very quickly if you are into that sort of thing. Also, for business expenses and real customer service, both on-line and over the telephone, you just can't beat it.
This past summer I spent points to fix up the house and help buy an overseas airplane ticket. (This spring I hope to get a new grill for the family.

Nobody owes you anything.

Just be careful. There are a lot of businesses that don't take AMEX and most AMEX cards that I have checked on have a yearly fee after the first year.jacksbuddy wrote:American Express. I had a Delta Gold AMEX card for several years when i was flying a lot. Its great if you fly. Every 25,000 points is a free ticket and it lets you check a bag free.
Downside to AMEX is A LOT of stores, particuarly mom and pop stores, wont take it. Doesnt do you a hell a lot of good then. I recently switched to Cabelas club card. Its pretty good, especially if you run big numbers on your card. For example, if you spend $1K a month you get $10 in free credit.

And good luck using it outside the US....it is only accepted in the really high density tourist areas.dukhntn wrote:Just be careful. I have a disney and it pretty much sucks for a reward card. The only reason I got was because they offered 3 years interest free at the time plus a 50 dollar sign bonus.

I have a Delta AMEX. I use it for business trips primarily. Bought my wife's car with it since I had the cash in the bank already from selling her old one and figured I'd get the points. Makes the airmiles add up quick if you fly much. But if you don't fly much, I'd get a bass pro or Cabela's card for sure. Knew a guy that had a Bass Pro card he used for his business and put $200K+ a year on it. Needless to say he would be in around Christmas every year buying all his presents for his family with all the Bass Pro rewards cash. Had something like $5,000 oneyear he had to spend. He'd buy a couple guns and other toys for himself too.
