one epic morning . . .

Postby TODO » Fri Dec 30, 2011 3:27 pm

Attempted to hunt on river this morning. Got to plan a hole another boat already there. Spun it around headed for plan b, made it 400 yards motor cuts out. Got it back going made another 100 yards and down for the count. Watched a beautiful sunrise whilst floating aimlessly. Special thanks to my most dependable patnah nitro mag. He got out of bed, got a kboat, and after a few hours of floatin pulled us in. Biggest clusterfluck I have been on in a long time. Water got in gas I think draining it now. Pretty much set a benchmark for bull chit. Hope yalls day was smoother!

Pulled one in from Smith Point this morning myself. I burned a *&*)load of gas pulling them to Dennis landing. I just always hope if I break someone will come get me.

Well I didnt get to hunt this morning cause my motor quit on me yesterday and after digging around trying to fix the problem, I finally carried it to the marina today and within 5 minutes he fixed it. said the kill switch wire came undone because it was pulled loose by the shifter on the side. I swear I eyeballed those wires for 2 hours last night before giving up.

( Torch + anyone else ) I promise you if I'm on the River and you break down call me, I will be more than willing to pull you back!

I know very well how helpless it fills to be in that position. Espically after dropping $8000 to fix the #### motor the week before. Plus I will do it Free of Charge ;-)

Man.....

Ya'll HAVE to carry an anchor in the boat for just an occasion right???? Trolling motor to get to the bank??????????

Don't know how ya'll hunt the river in MS, but I don't leave the warf without 500' of anchor rope and two anchors, plus a working trolling motor to get me out of a shipping lane if I break down. Do you all not do things like this futher up river??? If not I strongly reccommend you all do so in the future.

Glad you all are okay, one of my biggest fears is that I will break down in the shipping lane and have to bail out of the boat.

No troliing motor or anchor here. I do take a pile of paddles and plenty of rope. Not a bad idea thou

Got a padna like that as well...ropes, anchors, paddles, or trolling motors, nothing beats a padna that'll come and get you.

I always keep a trolling motor in my boat even when duck hunting. It gets in the way but is worth its weight in gold when your in a bind.
