Why you got to have guts to hunt the river? I'm not an MS hunter so I don't understand. We hunt big rivers all the time.

Your big rivers are nothing compared to the MS river. Un marked rock dikes, trees, buses, houses floating down in the wee hours of hte morning, current so swift if you make one mistake your dead. Lot to deal with hunting the Mighty Mississippi,

To all kneebooters. Just cause Torch is killin um on river dont mean chit as far as you killin um. Im in the same neck of woods, hunted river all my life, made three trips to scout and havent seen more than a couple hundred birds combined. Torch is on the X obviously, otherwise its slim pickens. So...... STAY HOME! (unless your with torch)

I am not being a smart booty when i say this. I don't care how big of a boat you got you can get killed out there if you don't know what you are doing. Like TODO said I have hunted the river all my life and I am in a honey hole. I am lucky enough to have guys in airplanes find these ducks for me. It is not as wasy as showing up and killing them. Out of 50 folks hinting the tiver 2 groups are killing them.

Well fellas I was joking about it. I'm not a shot chaser or one to go on a whim because someone is doing good. I know about big rivers and how bad they are so I know there is definite truth in what y'all are saying. Thanks for the warning though because there are some idiots out there that would go up there and get killed, I've seen it too many times on the Tennessee River. Too small of a boat, too much gear, unexpected wind, too many idiots in too small of a boat and too much gear whatever it may be I'm surprised more bubbas aren't killed every year.

Hunting the Mississippi River is a duck hunters "Crack" once you get a hit of it, you are Hooked.


.. Make sure to book a hunt with him and pay the extra $$$ to stay at his duck club house. It will be a once and a lifetime hunt and plus resort.

That ain't smack, dude. The Mississippi River ain't called "Mighty" for nothing. She will kill you seriously dead if you are not very careful. Every time I go out there, I treat her with a little more respect than I did the last time I was on her. She don't play..... Ever.
