I bought a new duck blind edition SP-10 before the season and let me tell you that with dry lock BB's its absolutely devistating. So far ive shot around a case through it. I decided to tear it down last nite and give it a good cleaning. As far as I can see there is no "field strip" to this cannon at all. I completely dissasembled it and scrubbed her down.
Am I missing something or does the but stock and action spring tube have to be removed to take the bolt out?

If it's anything like a Browning Gold 10, you have to depress the plunger and let the arm of the bolt swing free so the bolt will come out backwards.

Re: New SP-10
i am still in shock that you can form coherent sentences after shooting a case of shells through that thing!!
Re: New SP-10
I've had one for 19 yrs and I still shoot it some. Used to shoot it exclusively. The recoil is actually much less than 3 1/2s out of my sx3 but the sp10 weighs around 11 lbs. I don't know about tearing it down that far. Never needed to much and when it did I got George to do it. Great waterfowl gun. If you think the dry locks are impressive, shoot some hevi shot

Re: New SP-10
The carrier has to come out the bottom, where the trigger group is.
Re: New SP-10
Man I told you wrong and I apologize. yes, it can be removed w/o removing the spring and tube. With the trigger group removed, first remove the operating handle from the bolt. After removing op handle, take a phillips screwdriver and insert in the operating handle hole to start the bolt rearward, it will not go rearward w/o the scredriver or other tool for some reason. Hold the bolt carrier rearward from below, remove the screwdriver from the bolt and take the bolt carrier and bolt fully rearward. At this point the carrier can be removed from the bolt and it should come out the bottom of the reciever. I had to take mine apart to remember how to do it.
Re: New SP-10
That sounds logical, Ill give it a try next time.
Re: New SP-10
The sp10 is nothing more than an ithaca mag 10...the bolt does drop out the bottom but you have to fight the recoil spring...while you have the bolt out go ahead and replace to bolt buffer...ithaca recommends replacing it every year...if you dont it will eventually stop cycling the next round into the barrel
