The Duckmen has left the building

Postby MSDuckmen » Thu Dec 13, 2001 8:54 am

Well you come and go and that is what I’m about to do.
GO.
There is a favorite time of year for every person and this is mine.
What’s not to like? The woods are clear; you can see more wildlife this time of year than any other.
My plans are to leave home tomorrow and not return till Christmas Eve night, I will then spend the Holiday with my girls and leave the early the morning after. I have stocked the cabin with enough food to last till February. My wife and her father will hold the fort down till I get back.
I have loaded up the ATV and all three boats have been readied for the outings.
I have scheduled 5 different kids to hunt and with great pride my oldest daughter is one. What a surprise it was to have this young Barbie look-a-like to ask her dad to take her to see what it is that takes him away from her two months out of every year.
Also have some of our northern brothers coming down and hope to show them a good time and shooting.

I worked hard on habitat this year and we have plenty of birds and more moving in everyday, the real trick will be when to shoot them and when not to.

Looking out window it is entertaining seeing my truck loaded and thinking to myself how much like the Clampit’s I really look like.
I’m excited cause I have my new call I made this year and it is truly going to be the down fall for many a mallard.

I wanted to tell you guys that I have enjoyed the forums that we communicate on and look forward to returning to them in February. We don’t always agree on how we view hunting as a sport but we do agree on the fact that we like to be out there.

For those of you that will be trying to get in touch with me, you can leave me an email to my site and my wife will be checking it for me. She will also be updating the field reports for our club members since we are now never really in the same place at the same time.

There will be many trips back and forth across this state for me as I chase the birds from one location to another and most likely will cross the paths of some of you.

So take care my cyber duck hunting friends and hunt safe, be ethical, and above all treat the environment like it is the most important thing that you own, cause it is.
I will try to check in every so often, see you in February.

Duckmen, Hope you get this. Good luck and be safe. I only wish I was able to do what you are about to. Maybe someday. I enjoy your views. Hope you have the sucess you earned and deserve. When you get back I need to talk to you about some habitat work. As the used to say on Hee Haw "Salute"
