OK I screwed up last night at a DU Banquet, and I wasn't even drunk. They were selling a Stoeger Upland Special side by side shotgun. Previous auction item sold was a Marlin .22 which sold for a $235 (not bad for a $125 gun). Auctioneer starts the bidding at $250 on the SxS. I bid. bidding went to $350 in about 2 seconds and I've got it. Auctioneer couldn't squeeze another penny from anyone. Never did I think I would have bought a shotgun at a DU banquet for $350 (Heck I didn't even want to go to the thing).

Can somebody at least tell me what this thing is worth? I think it's Brazilian. Choked F,M fixed. 2 triggers. Pretty wood w/nice checkering.

OR make me an offer.

I saw a .410 SxS on Guns Amreica going for $385 new. No idea about the 12Ga.

Actually I think IGA owns Stoeger. The most expensive SXS they had listed was $485.00. I saw the upland listed at $375.00.

Water Dog - At our local DU banquet, I bought the .22 they had. Was the one at your banquest camo, long rifle, with a gold DU emblem under the stock/trigger? If so, I am glad to see what the one at your banquet went for. I got mine for $140. It's a pretty Gun, so I told my wife and besides, we just had twins 6 weeks ago. A boy and girl. I told her it was for the little boy. Eased the pain a little.

The fair market value as listed by DU is $205. The gun will hold its value and I think the $350. is a reasonable price. Remember that the value of any item is always the price you would sell it for or the price someone would pay for it.

WABODUCK, are you saying the fair market value of the SxS is $205 or the 22 rifle?? The camo rifle sold for $235 the SxS for $350.

I find it hard to believe that you could buy this SxS new for $205. I finally got it last night, and it has a DU medallion inlaid in the stock that I didn't even know was there when I bid. DU might have paid $205 for it, but I don't think that is the retail price in a store.

The fair market value is the cost for the merchandise to the local DU committee from Ducks Unlimited.
The fair market value for the Stoeger is $205.
