Hunter, (my youngest) and I were sitting in a shooting house Saturday morning overlooking my #1 spot and a doe came bounding diagonally across the plot towards us from R to L. It stopped on the left side of the plot just before the pines. I put the gun out the window and told him whenever he was on it's shoulder to hold it solid and squeeze the trigger. He made a perfect shot dead through the shoulder exiting in front of the off side shoulder and the doe dropped in it's tracks. We walk down, grab the deer and drag it 100 yds back to the stand to get it out of the plot. About 5 mins after getting back to the stand a 10 point (mainframe 8 with 2 kickers) walks out within 10' from where his deer was laying and begins rubbing his hocks together urinating down it's legs. I offer him to Hunter and he passes, without giving it a second thought I let the new 35 Whelen bark and he drops in his tracks. Quartering to, I hit him in front of the front shoulder and the bullet was lodged under the skin right behind the far side shoulder.

It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
