Re: Dakota Decoys
They will surely get dingy. Garden hose some soap and a soft brush is what I've used to clean them. They will definitely not last forever.
The Higdons really do look real. I'm skeptical that they will look this good after a couple of years of usage? Storing them and slotted bags and not throwing them in shallow muddy water should help?
Regardless of how long they last, I would buy them again.

Heres to Long Legged Women, Banded Greenheads, and Long Spurs!!!
Re: Dakota Decoys
Being a shoo' 'nuff Albanian... I'm sure my opinion don't count, but I picked up a couple dozen Dakotas this year, and think they're great. They are Huge, very detailed, and the paint is the best I've seen. Came with 2 sets of heads for the drakes, one flocked and one painted. We're going with the painted to start, and about Christmas time swapping to the flocked to freshen em up. You can get a new set of flocked heads for about 20 bucks from Dakota if you get em too nasty to clean good. Well worth the money if you ask me, but hey,I'm Albanian (not to be confused with Bammer, big difference there)

Re: Dakota Decoys
I just aquired a couple dozen out of the back of a truck along with an 1187 I'll make a deal on for any loyal member of this board. Just PM me!
Sorry Torch, I just couldn't resist.
In all honesty we have killed nothing but limits in Louisiana this year with decoys that range from 5 years old to 30 years old. As long as I continue to kill them with that why would I want to spend $170 on decoys. My whole spread likely isn't worth that much? Convince me.

Re: Dakota Decoys
Never held one of these decoys with my own hands and no one Around here sells them. My question is this, are they as durable/ tough as a G&H or something along those lines??
Re: Dakota Decoys
the dakota set i got this year comes with the non flocked heads as well. iMO, color and shapes of the DD's are good enough that you can put the flockers on a shelf, ad not have to babysit the heads. and if they make you batty, just swap out a few for realism!

Re: Dakota Decoys
slotted zippered bags are gonna be your best bet for longevity and keeping them clean.
think, otter box for your decoys.
