I've got a pair in for repair right now. ONLY mfg defects are now covered under the warranty. You pay a reduced price for everything else.

I sent mine off about a month ago, having had them since 2005 or 2006, had a few scratches on the lenses and missing the nose pieces, paid my $12.95 and got new lenses and new frames! So I dont see why they are charging you guys $150+..

I had two new pairs sent for 135. I broke the lens in one pair and they were 79 and they warrantied the frame and the frame on the other pair that my daughter broke was 50 and they warranteed the lenses due to scratches or something. I have two backup pairs now. Should last me a decade or so. This is the first time I have sent glasses to them and have been wearing costas since 1990 or so. They did me right as far as I am concerned.

Depends on who works on them at Costa. they claimed mine not warranty and charged me 65 for new frames, plus the shipping if I remember correctly

did they ask you if they could charge you for that or did they just go ahead and charge you for it? Was just curious how that worked.

They call you with the inspection report and tell you how much it is to repair before they do anything.

They emailed me (guess that was the reach-a-round) and gave me the total.
