Memphis Folks?

Postby deltacotton » Thu Jul 15, 2004 8:02 am

Anyone know if where I can get some live birds or fresh dead birds..I have got a six month old choc whose teeth are really sore right now. Since he is being a little stubborn and dropping the bumper on the retirieve I wanted to get him accustomed to some birds.
Thanks

PS Does anyone know if the Retriever Club still meets at shelby farms..I wanted to come by this Sat and see if I could pick up a few tips on what and how to be working on for the next couple of weeks..

While pups teeth are coming in, you should stop all retrieves and just work on yard OB. Pup is having enough problems eating, much less having to carry something around in his mouth.

Once pups teeth are fully in and you still want some ducks try Ducks and Ducks, Inc. out of Arkansas. He is the closest to you and if he is on his way to deliver to a hunt test you can just meet him there.

Good luck with your training and if you get a chance head down to Southern Flight Retriever Club. Lots of good folks and experience down there.

Don't know if these folks are the club or not, but every morning on the way home from work, I see some folks off Mullins Station east of Whitten (north side of Farms) working their dogs. About 7:30 AM.

Not Southern Flight HRC out there but there are alot of East Mphs. retriever folks. We would love to have you come out to a meeting but you may also want to check out http://www.midsouthhrc.com.

You can come train with me some afternoons (here in mempho)if you can throw birds worth a hoot, or load wingers good. I dont do the farms thingy, too many folks wanting to hang around and talk bout training instead of training. I talk here, I train when I go to da field. I do sometimes drink mexican beer immedately after training though, that doesnt count! hehe. travis

He's been known to totally ruin the vanity countertop of hotels, too. I never knew blenders could make such a mess.......
