what would you do?

Postby J.Luke » Fri Nov 11, 2011 9:09 pm

Took the 35 whelen this am and of course saw 4 bucks none were shooters but one was a 3 point with a lame leg. No noticeable gun or bow wound. Prob hit by car. He was feeding but never once put his foot on the ground for 45 minutes. He was not state legal but would you have shot him with the rifle or would you shoot him with a bow or let nature take its course? It was tough watching the lil fella hobble around. I'll let yall know what I chose to do later.

got a 3 legged doe on our place. she's dropped 5 yearlins so far. i feel bad for her watching her walk, but she's healthy enough to drop babies and nurse and take care of herself so she keeps getting a pass. if he's able to eat and get around then he's fine.

for exmaple you could kill a 4 greenheads (two banded), a mallard/black cross, and a mallard/gaddy cross and smash a hot blonde on the way back to the ramp and call it a hell of a day
and THAT is a duck hunt.

He fed a while and then the next thing I know he was all bristled up. He is literally 3 steps from my stand when a spike came in and challenged him. They went at it for a good 25 seconds and dirt was hitting the bottom of my stand. Well ol 3 leg got the best of the spkike. They fed together sparred for a few min then the spike went on his way. It was fun to watch and when ol 3 leg left I was proud. Hope he makes it through the year!!!
