November 5th 2011- Break-Away Outdoors hosted a youth hunt at Yellow Creek Timber and Wildlife. 23 youth from the Palmer Home for Children, and other organizations attended the event. The day began by outfitting each child with camouflage provided by our friends at Longleaf Camo. After everyone was suited up each child headed to the shooting bench for gun safety and target practice. Hamburgers and hotdogs were served for lunch, and a second round of shooting ensued. At 3:00pm we headed to the stand. Shots rang out throughout afternoon, and excitement started to build as to who killed what. At the end of the day 18 deer arrived at the skinning shed. Smiles carried throughout the night as a wildgame stew was provided for supper. As the day winded to an end a great feeling of accomplishment was felt by all of the volunteers who helped make this day happen. We look forward to our next chapter in the story book of Break-Away Outdoors.
