I was at the meeting. I agree 100% southernmallard go to the Commission.

My point is that if we are going to get this changed and have a voice in the future we need numbers and the Coalition is a great long term idea.

When and where is the first meeting? Do we have a lawyer on here that will legaly create the organization?

+1....I'm for something like this as well. How are the wheels set in motion for such an organization?

I will say this although most won't pay attention because I am out of state, but I have enjoyed the draw system that existed at the WMAs, but I will say the thousand dollars or so apiece that me and my friends spent duck hunting public land in Mississippi won't hit the coffers this year due to the changes. I hate to say it, but it will add up to a few million every few years the resource is missing out on just from the out of state folks drawing. The main reservation holders we always met were from out of state or several hours away and that boosted the motels/cabin rentals, restaurants, etc. The locals were always standby and I never remember every reservation holder showing up. If the new system was set in place to stop the OOS from hunting the WMAs then in our case it is successful. It is now not worth the risk to spend the money for standby draw with potentially so few spots to draw. It was a great system in our opinions and enabled a chance to get to hunt well managed property that typically held a decent concentration of ducks. It is sad because the WMAs were managed so well and it seems based on this thread that even the locals and the Mississippians are not pleased with the new system.

1-3 less people going hunting on the WMA's this year from out of state. Just make it where MS residents only can hunt
Oh yea forgot to add the :D
May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.
