San Jaun, PR
Anybody been there? I'll be down there the week of thanksgiving for a wedding. Thinking about a fishing trip while I'm there. Anybody had any experience with a charter there?

That air port is sketchy at best....notice the linen suits and briefcases changing hands....awesome weather down there this time of year though.

This is pretty much true. The fort at on the west end of the island is cool and can kill a few hours. It is located near the old part of San Juan.deltadukman wrote:That air port is sketchy at best....notice the linen suits and briefcases changing hands....awesome weather down there this time of year though.

Never fished it, but Ive been a few times for work in the casinos. Traffic is bad...real bad. My first trip my luggage was lost. Pack spare underwear in your carry on. Knowing a little spanish will help alot...when you speak english, the locals wont like you. Ice heads and bumbs will mooch your cigs. Old San Juan is the highlight...historic and preaty.Try to get into one of them whole hogs they cook...freakin awsome. Mufungo and plantains suck, but, try some. Expect bad customer service EVERYWHERE you go. If your staying at a resort...I wouldnt go far from it. All road signs are in spanish and cities are named after animals...pictures of wich will be on the road signs...I only remember Ponce is a pony...wierd man. The beaches and water are nice, but, I hate the place. The little frogs will drive ya nuts at night, and, beware of the iguanas. Have fun

I hear the world's famous Black Angus is closed! We worked P.R. for 6 weeks back in 1988. Never fished though but I did drink a few beers and "cut bait"!

My wife and I are leaving on a cruise from there in early Dec. We plan on going down a couple days early and I had thought about trying to go fishing there. I've always been told to try and find an "American" guide or at the very least one that speaks good English. I emailed several guides down there several months ago and can forward you there responses if you'd like. I've not booked one yet but had plan to. Would like to know about your experience if you go.
Send me your email and I'll forward them to you.
