Is the beer named "BEER" a Mississippi thing? I've never seen it...

Birds or not, the Mississippi Dove opener - and, in fact the entire weekend - is my favorite of the year. Missed ONE since I was 7 or 8. Laid up in Galveston and swore I'd never miss another for as long as I lived to see sunrise.

This year I am missing my first dove opener since I have been hunting without adult supervision, due to a number of circumstances. I feel the same way as DR2... it won't happen again.

Looks like I'm out for the weekend. Wife had surgery yesterday to remove a kidney stone and bust up those in one kidney. She's pretty sore so I'm going to keep the 3 youngest kids knocked off her. Our oldest who could do it went to Ole Piss this weekend. Might get one in later in the weekend depending on how she's doing and whether the storm is going to dump a foot of water on us.

Second year in a row I'm missing the opener. I'm like y'all, I love opening day of dub season as much or more than any other, just couldn't line it up for me, the boy, and my Dad. Dad's health is getting worse so I don't know that he would've gone and it wouldn't be the same anyways but, still would've been nice...

Y'all kill a mess and be safe!

Had a decent shoot in north MS, not record setting but steady. They expected much better this afternoon, that field was loaded late yesterday. I think we dressed 87. I heard one field in Lee Co dressed about 250.

Since I've missed the last two openers, it was all good.

This was Duke's lone retrieve of the day. $14 beans took the place of our usual sunflower field, but it was a great day nonetheless. My brother was home for the first time in 3 years and Duke had to sit out last year with a heartworm treatment. The dogs were the only ones disappointed with the lack of shooting.
