Anybody used a Fenix Light yet

Postby matador1 » Sat Aug 27, 2011 3:30 pm

Buddy of mine just became a dealer for these. I havn't got to actually see them in action yet but he says it is unbelievable. Uses a "high capacity" battery in AA and D cells. He has the small one that uses 2 AAs and said you can light up a deer at 3-400 yards.
Has a larger light about the size of a mag light that is basicallt their spotlight. Rated out to 720 meters using 4 d cells with a run time of several days. Yes, I said days!
Anxious to see one. Anybody tried them yet?

Not saying i blame you but this guy just isn't one to exagerate. I'll try it out soon and report back. The deer thing came up over lunch Friday when he and another in the group had tried it out the night before. They said they stood at this guys house and shined the neighbors horses. In know the place they are talking about and it's an easy 300 yards.

Like I said, I'll try it out soon and report back.

i have had one for 3 years. Love mine. my friends are dealers for them ( Brothers of the Bow.com, Gene and Barry Wensel) and mine will light up a deer certainly at 300 yards on high beam. I own three of them. I have the ones that burn 2 lithium batteries . my duck hunting light I tie on a lanyard. No need for a spot light on my boat. Highly recommend them..

I don't know anything about those Fenix Lights, but there are a lot of options out there right now. LED light technology has come a long way and the prices have dropped significantly. A lot of them are produced in China but they are pretty good lights. I just ordered one of these and it shines 400-500 yards easy and throws a huge beam

I have been using one for a couple years. It uses the cr123 batteries and produces over 200 lumens. No complaints here, and many of the guys at my camp have them now.

Here the link to my friends web page.

http://brothersofthebow.com/html/mainbeam.html

the FENIX light has the highest lumens in it's class. 265. It weighs an ounce or two w/o batteries. It is about the size of a 3 1/2" 12 ga shell. Obviously to get higher lumens you have to go to a light that holds more batteries and weighs almost a pound like the the Trustfire and others mentioned above.

Rick I must admit my Fenix is a good light but doesn't compare to my $8 ebay light. Especially for the price. It will outshine my fenix and my stinger hands down.

Refer to this post:

Here's the light:

They are cheap and they are almost as good. Certainly almost as bright. It will light everything up at 200yards when you focus the light. No joke. Buy 10 of these for the price of one Fenix. Battery life is also very good. Have yet to use my Surefire after purchasing this one. Way brighter.

I reeeeaaaly want this one.

Can't imagine how bright it would be.

I have a Fenix Headlight and it's great and I normally never have to put it on a high setting for anything I'm doing.

I bit the hook and bought the AAA headlamp from China some of y'all have been raving about. Sorry , it's junk compared to a FENIX 260 lumen. matter of fact it is no way this light is 1/3 lumen the FENIX is. FENIX uses much higher voltage batteries than the Chineese imposter is the first clue. IMO the chineese light is just a $9 dollar head lamp. I'll take the FENIX for 60 bucks with warranty and 10 x more power any day.
